So we've finally had a chance to demo the BlackBerry Playbook! I must say that I wasn’t very excited to have a play with it, but after we used it for a few hours, my opinion has changed completely.
The first thing I noticed is how well the device is made. The Playbook supports a brilliant dual-core processor with full 1080p HD video playback. Put this together with the RIM operating system and you have a very impressive device.
The main question that was on everyone’s lips was could RIM divert consumers attention away from iOS and Android, and open people's eyes to a completely new OS? I think the answer to this question is yes!
Have BlackBerry missed the boat? With the release of the iPad 2 and Motorola Xoom, will you be tempted to wait for its release?
The BlackBerry Playbook is due 16th June 2011. The device will go on sale from the 16 June and will be available through channels including Dixons Retail, Carphone Warehouse, Insight UK and Phones 4u. We should be able to compare deals on this date, so check back soon.
