The much anticipated Beats Audio smartphone, the HTC Sensation XE will be available on O2 later this year. This has been confirmed by the Network themselves. They haven't as of yet given confirmed release dates, but it's expected to drop sometime in the next three months.
The news was bought to us via Twitter, and this is what O2 had to say: ”Liking the look & listen of the HTC Sensation XE – it’s coming to O2 later this year!”
As we said earlier, O2 have not confirmed the release date, but they have also not confirmed any pricing information. With this in mind, Phones 4U have taken an unusual stance and have announced that they will be stock the HTC Sensation XE on 1st October. This all comes from them having scored an exclusivity deal with HTC. The UK mobile phone retailer has also unusually confirmed that it’d be available from £36 per month on contract.
So what is the HTC Sensation XE all about? Well it comes equipped with something called 'studio quality sound', which includes 'Beats' by Dr. Dre in-ear headphones and custom audio processing hardware and software. The main difference compared to the original HTC Sensation is the upgraded 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a much improved 1730mAh battery, Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread), with the option to have either a 16GB or 32GB card included in the box. Seems pretty awesome to me!
The HTC Sensation XE will also come with a 4.3-inch qHD screen, an 8.0 mega-pixel camera with added 1080p HD video support, and all of the usual connectivity options such as Bluetooth, HSDPA and WiFi.
