TomTom have announced their will be an updated version of its popular TomTom software for the Apple iPhone. The update includes integration into popular social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter. There hasn't been an official release date for the update, but we expect it to be some time in Q4.
I'm an avid TomTom user and it is definitely the best App I've bought for my iPhone. This update really does excite me. You will be able to use Facebook and Twitter to navigate to friends, places and events with ease! The new updated TomTom app will be smart enough to plan routes based on information from a Facebook event. You will also be able to share your destination and arrival time on Twitter, Facebook, via email or SMS. I can't say how many times I've had problems getting to birthday drinks from an event posted on Facebook. You get in the car only to remember that you didn't look the bar up on Google!
TomTom have also packed in some other cool features into this new release - Updated maps, Map Share update, the ability to route faster through traffic, updated speed cameras feature, and also integration of contacts, photos, music, and email.
As we mentioned earlier, there isn't any news on when the TomTom app is going to be officially released, but the update will be free for all existing TomTom iPhone users.
