O2 have started stocking the iPod touch to complement is fast selling exclusive Apple iPhone. The new iPod Touch has a multi-touch interface and a fantastic 3.5 inch widescreen display, just like the Apple iphone. In fact, it looks so much like the iphone that you wouldn’t even notice the difference unless you held it in your hand and felt how much thinner the iPod touch is to the Apple iPhone. The Apple iPod Touch is available in two models, 8GB and 16GB. Is Christmas coming early this year? Well if you don’t fancy getting a contract with an iPhone, then why don’t you try the iPod Touch?

Is Nokia's answer to the Apple iPhone the new Nokia N810 Internet Tablet? well if it is, it's missing one very important thing - it's not a phone! The Nokia N810, like the previous Nokia Tablets, connects to the internet via a Mobile Phone using either Bluetooth or WiFi, so we will have to see if the Nokia N810 can hold its own when it is released in the UK later this year.
The Nokia N810 is a Linux based mobile media device that is running the brand new Maemo operating system. The new OS2008 OS from Maemo will support a Mozilla web browser, enhanced Adobe Flash support, Windows Media Player compatibility, the Nokia Maps application, VOIP SIP call support and a new user interface. There are plenty of free applications available for download for the Maemo operating system, so the Nokia N810 should have a huge range of software add-ons available in the future. The specification for this device is quiet impressive. Nokia N810 features large 4.1" 800 x 480 pixel display, QWERTY keyboard, 128MB of DDR RAM plus 256MB Flash and a TI OMAP 2420processor running at 400 MHz, as well as having Bluetooth and WiFi. All these features are packed in to a handheld size unit at only 72 x 128 x 14mm, and the Nokia N810 weights 226g. The device also supports SD cards up to 2GB and SDHC cards up to 8GB. One key advantage in having the big screen in a separate device to your phone is that you can have a normal size device as a mobile, and you only need to take the N810 out with you when you need it. The overall design of the N810 is a bit sleeker than the N800 - the video calling camera is now more traditionally mounted on the front, the seldom used navigation pad has been moved to the QWERTY keyboard and the other controls are mounted on the edge of the device so that they can be reached easily. As with the N800, the N810 Internet Tablet comes with a built-in stand. You don't have to use the physical keyboard as text can be entered directly onto the N810's screen with a finger or stylus.
