T-Mobile Web 'n' WalkFollowing on from O2's recently announced "unlimited" plans, T-Mobile have reduced the price of their excellent Web'n'Walk plans. The Web’n’walk Plus package which gives you 3GB monthly allowance is now only 10 per month. That is a saving of £9, whilst the Web’n’walk Max which gives you 10Gb allowance and VoIP with now only be £35 per month instead of £44 per month. The only catch is these fantastic Web'n'Walk plans are only available to those on 24 month contracts, so you would have to commit to T-Mobile for a long time to take advantage of these really cheap data tariffs. From November 1st you'll also be able to get a fast mobile internet connection without any monthly commitment. Unlimited browsing is available for no more than £4 per day and there'll be speeds of up to 3.6mb per second, with plans to increase to 7.2mb p/s later this year.

Orange is holding back a planned tariff update in a bid to outdo T-Mobile. Sources close to Orange are saying that they (Orange) will launch the new animal tariffs In March because T-Mobile is planning to refresh its Flext plans in February.

A source close to Orange said: 'Orange is planning to launch new tariffs in March but it's waiting to see what the new Flext deals are going to be like first because they were kicked by T-Mobile last year. They'll keep the animals, but they're going to rejig the minutes and texts offered.' Separately, it is also rumoured that Orange could debut a new animal 'character' as part of its tariff scheme.

Orange launch new unlimited offersOrange launched their new 18 month 'Unlimited' range of Orange tariffs on the 1st May. In theory the new tariffs are just an extension to their existing range of animal tariffs.

The new and improved tariffs from Orange will give users unlimited text on Dolphin £35, unlimited landline calls on Raccoon £35, unlimited Orange to Orange calls on Canary £40 and a choice between unlimited text, landline calls or Orange to Orange calls on Panther £45, £55 and £75.

This is clearly Orange's response to T-Mobile's improved Flext offerings from April, and early indication is proving to be a success for Orange. For more information on the new Orange tariffs please visit the official Orange Shop .

Orange systems hacked

Orange systems hackedAccording to reports, computer hackers have been trying to steal Orange customers' details by accessing the network's dealer Orange Enable dealer sales system.

The network system was suspended last weekend while Orange investigated and the network has re-issued store codes and passwords. Some independents are still experiencing problems connecting handset via Orange Enable.

I guess the big question is: 'Will dealers be compensated for there lose of sales?'

It is believed the hackers were trying to steal commercially sensitive information in a bid to target other independent dealers' customer bases.

An Orange spokeswoman said: 'We recently became aware that a third party was trying to access our sales system which some of our sales channels use to register new customers and upgrade existing ones.' The system stores customer details, including name, mobile number and customers' upgrade eligibility.

The attack is believed to have been designed to harvest the names and phone numbers of potential customers in a bid to target them, but Mobile understands there is no danger of any customers' banking details being exposed.

Dealers were told to contact Orange connections for upgrades and connections until the problem was resolved. They also needed to supply the customers' details and handset information when calling the network.

According to dealers, the suspension caused problems over the weekend. 'People were waiting 30 to 35 minutes to get through on the connections line,' said one salesperson.
