Asda have today have announced that they will be selling an Android tablet for under £100. Yes I did say £100! Asda are well known for marketing themselves around the whole 'cost saving' slogan, and this really is a cost saving device.
The Android tablet is an 8-inch Arnova touchscreen tablet, which has 4GB memory (expandable to 32GB), built in Wi-Fi and HD movie playback. It also features a 25 hour battery life and the tablet only weighs 500g. I have to say that I'm looking forward to walking down to my local Asda store and trying it out. It's cheap enough to purchase one for each room of my house! lol
Asda's tech expert Alex Crowe has this to say about it:
"It's absolutely amazing what can be packed into this fantastic Arnova tablet! Tonnes of books and music, email, Internet browsing, games and much, much more - and it only weighs ounces. It really is the perfect holiday gadget and at this fantastic price it can't be beaten."
This tablet, which will sell for £99, might not stack up against devices such as the iPad 2, but it's an affordable tablet for people that are not interested in features like 3G. It's definitely a stocking filler for Christmas I can tell you that much!
