So The HTC Sensation was release on all the UK networks, and then a few days later HTC have to answer questions about the 'so-called' death grip! So what is this 'Death Grip'? Well is basically a very similar antenna problem with the iPhone 4. The HTC Sensation apparently drops reception when it's held in a specific way.
There are videos on the Nordic Hardware site demonstrating The HTC Sensation with the death grip problem. It clearly shows the Sensation dropping signal strength over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and network coverage.
So the evidence is there, but HTC are denying the problem. They are saying they can't comment on the allegations because the Mobile Phone is being held in a less-than-natural way. A company spokesperson said: 'No. Every phone experiences a slight variation in signal strength when the antenna is covered in its entirety by a palm or fingers, however under normal circumstances this does not affect the performance of the phone.'
So should a phone drop signal when it's held in a less-than-natural way? In saying that, I couldn't find any problems with the HTC Sensation when we had a play with one in the office a few weeks ago. I actually used it for a week with no problems. I was actually very impressed with the handset and the quality of the device and the screen.
