Sony S1 and S2

Well HTC have now announced that they will be bringing Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) to the HTC Desire. What a shocking U-turn! Have they realised that they made a huge mistake?

It was a big talking point around the web yesterday. So many angry HTC Desire owners were expressing their disbelief to HTC's announcement Yesterday. But, remarkably 24 hours later, a statement was made on HTC's Facebook page: "Contrary to what we said earlier, we are going to bring Gingerbread to HTC Desire."

The reasons behind the U-turn is still unknown, but in my opinion, HTC have realised the amount of mayhem they have caused with their original ananouncement. Especially since they promised that it would be avilable for the HTC Desire.

There are no dates as to when the Gingerbread update for the HTC Desire will be released. Once it does eventually become available, Desire users will reef the benefits of a re-jigged UI, enhanced speed and and power management, one-touch word selection and boosted gaming.
