The chinese manufacturer Huawei will be releasing their very first smartphone under it's own brand name this September in the UK. It's called the Huawei Blaze and is an entry level Android handset which is said to likely run on the Gingerbread OS.
Huawei decided to launch the Blaze with under their own brand name with the intention to build their brand in the ever popular market rather than it's native just it's native, China. They are hoping to replicate the success of HTC who have grown continually since they decided to sell their handsets as HTC rather than being hidden away behind other manufacturing giants.
Huawei's UK vice president Mark Mitchinson said, "We're trying to establish the brand, almost from scratch".
Those of you out there who are looking to make the move from feature to smartphone will most probably welcome this new handset as it's set to only cost around the £100 price point. We do expect Huawei to up it's game in the marketing department if it really wants to compete with HTC.
