LG Optimus Sol

LG have finally officially announced the Optimus Sol after multiple online leaks over the past few weeks. The Phone is designed to work in bright sunlight, so it comes boosting a 3.8-inch (480 x 800) Ultra AMOLED display – a high clarity display which makes reading content in bright conditions a breeze!

The LG Optimus Sol is only running a 1GHz single-core processor, but then again it's only 9.8mm thick. It comes powered by Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, with LG's Optimus UI. Other specifications include a 5.0 megapixel rear-facing camera, DLNA technology, HSDPA, WiFi, and up to 32GB of expandable memory. There will also be an NFC model available at a launch.

The handset also uses an enhanced idle-based power management system that boosts battery life by 30%. With the Dark UI selected, the LG Optimus Sol extends battery life performance by utilizing less white light.

President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company had this to say:

"The Optimus Sol stands out from its competitors as the most affordable 1 GHz Android smartphone with an AMOLED display."

"By introducing a no-nonsense phone that boasts one of the best displays on the market, we think we have a real winner for consumers looking for a subtle but visually stunning phone."

The LG Optimus Sol will be available at around September 2011. It will be available to purchase in Black, Titan, and White. Pricing fro the new Smartphone is still to be confirmed, but we're not expecting to see the price to be too high.
