The Orange Monte Carlo will be available this week at a very reasonable price of £149. The Monte Carlo is the successor to the very popular Orange San Francisco. The phone will also be available to purchase on Contract, and you'll be able to purchase the handset for free from only £20 per month.
At the moment, there's no information from Orange, or any other sources about a possible release date yet, and Orange have only marked the handset as 'Coming Soon' on their website, but we're hoping to have some more information on this very shortly.
The Orange Monte Carlo comes with a range of cool apps pre-installed and ready to use. You get Orange Wednesdays, Orange Gestures and Orange's newly launched Film To Go service. The Monte Carlo boosts the top of the range 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen - which recently seem to be very popular choice for handsets at this price range. The Phone is also powered by a powerful 800MHz processor, and it will feature Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
Multimedia features are not bad either. The handset toots a 5.0 megapixel rear-facing camera, a built-in media player with FM radio capabilities, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, up to 32GB of expandable memory, and something called HD Voice.
Some people wouldn't class this as a Smartphone, but I do. I mean what does 'Smartphone' actually mean these days? Aren't all phones a form of 'Smart' devices?
